She is survived by her husband Randy, brothers: William II (Carolyn), Kevin, Brien (Lisa), and Sean (Teanna), daughter Sara Corinne Bierman (Brett), stepchildren Brent Yeager (Kristi) and Ashley Young (Chris).
Corinne is also Grandmother to Evelyn Corinne Camp, Jane Eleanor, and Gage Bierman, Sam and Grace Yeager, and Carson and Kinsley Roberts.
Corinne is the beloved aunt of numerous nephews and nieces as well as great nieces and nephews.
Corinne will also be missed by her canine buddy and constant companion, Bing.
Corinne attended St. Mary’s Grade and High schools. Independence, Mo. and graduated Missouri State University where she studied elementary education: emphasis in special education and learning disabilities.
Corinne became a cherished middle school teacher with the majority of her 30 plus years in the Blue Valley school district as a pioneer in technology education. She was also an instructor in the Webster University Masters education program for many years.
The holidays were a passion of Corinne’s, particularly Christmas and Halloween. She added part time employment at the Hallmark store in order to decorate her numerous trees as well as turning her home into a veritable haunted house each October.
Corinne was right smack in the middle of her birth family - the fourth child of seven. She really had two families. The first was her oldest brother and three sisters. As the youngest she was both cuddled and babied while also being the most junior and least powerful sibling. Her second family consisted of her as the oldest daughter who was often in charge of and responsible for the three young brothers that followed her. She performed both roles flawlessly.
Seven years ago she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. She fought it valiantly and it was in remission for several years until it came back and slowly spread despite her continuing treatment. Then it made it into her blood and she contracted leukemia.
Being the good fighter she is, she stayed active making her own plans for taking care of all the necessary arrangements that should be in place for her passing. She visited many family members and friends sharing fun memories and happy times. She remained strong and loving until the end.
Corinne and Randy would like to especially thank all the health care professionals at the KU Cancer Center for all the thoughtful care she experienced there.
The family of Corinne offer our heartfelt thanks for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your memories, comforting condolences, and gestures of love are truly appreciated.
