Charles J. Haas of Overland Park, Ks passed away on 4-22-2010 at home. He was born in Elwood, Indiana on May 4th, 1929 to Charles and Josephine (Riva) Haas. He received a B.A. Degree from Indiana University and was a member of the Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. He served as a Sergeant in the army during the Korean War. He married his wife of 55 yrs, Clarene Leone, in 1954. He retired from Standard Register Company in 1995 following a 40 year career as a Business Forms Salesman and Designer. He then started his own company Creative Forms. His real passions were his family, sports and crossword puzzles. He supported his children in all their endeavors and was always there to provide direction, advice and love. He was voted Tennis Dad of the Year in 1975, was a Den Dad and a member of the Knights of Columbus. His keen sense of humor kept his family and friends laughing. He was a man of honesty, integrity and character. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife and children and all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Clarene; his children, Carol Haas, Charles T. Haas and wife, Celeste, Frank Haas and wife, April, and Jim Haas. His grandchildren Evan, Elise, Katy and Joe Haas; and his extended family: Grace Mary and Gene Molinaro, Jeanne and Carl Di Martino, Grace
Rose and George Sanders, Carrie Ann and Ralph Storms, and Mary Frances and Jerry Kimberlin.
Visitation will be held on Sunday April 25, 2010 from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. with rosary at 6:00 at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, KS. Entombment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum, Lenexa, KS.
