Rev. Fr. Zenon Hentosz

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Rev. Fr. Zenon Hentosz on Wednesday afternoon, April 26, 2023, at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus ICU. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Maria Christina (née Hornykewycz), and three children, Matej, Juliana, and Johanna, as well as his siblings Roman, Miroslawa, Irena, and Iwan.

Father Zenon touched the lives of many parishioners and their families, as well as the school communities where he served as school chaplain for over 20 years, in profound, memorable, and wondrous ways. His wisdom, gentleness, strength, sparkling blue eyes, comforting bright smile, sense of humour, and presence will be missed.

A Parastas will be celebrated on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., followed by a Divine Liturgy and burial on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Shrine, 952 Green Valley Crescent, Ottawa, Ontario.
