It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Valerie Harvey, beloved partner to Bruce Rafter, devoted mother to Edward Harvey, Jennifer Harvey and Timothy Harvey and grandmother to Elizabeth, Kaelan, Nathan, Kyah and Jakob.
A loving daughter to Inez and Garfield-Hector Burns, and sister to Maryln, Joanne, Patricia and Gary;
Valerie passed peacefully on August 18th, 2022 at the age of seventy- two.
Through her strength and great capacity for love, Valerie gave everyone around her comfort and support; her devotion to her family was always paramount.
Thank you to the staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, and the Perley Health who provided great care and compassion in Valerie’s time of need.
Friends and family may attend a visitation on Friday August 26, 2022 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a service in the chapel at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, ON, interment to follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, 15 Steeple Hill Crescent, Nepean, ON.
