Passed away peacefully at the Civic Hospital on October 27, 2017 at the age of 86. Predeceased by her parents Karl Göbelbecker and Johanna nee Bleimeier. She leaves behind in Germany her sister Ingrid Göbelbecker, niece Petra Lakatos and many other nieces and nephews. She was a faithful member of St. Albertus German-speaking parish from its beginnings and will be missed by her many friends there. Ursula arrived in Canada in 1954 as a trained tailor and worked in various places then with the RCMP as a master tailor and supervisor for 25 years until her retirement in 1995. She volunteered for many years for Saint-Vincent Hospital and through her association with the Legion of Mary devoted countless hours to visiting the sick.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Nov.4th at 10:00 AM at the St. Albertus Pfarrgemeinde, 416 Parkdale Avenue, Ottawa, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. Departure from the church at 1:00 PM for interment at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa. In memory of Ms. Göbelbecker, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Grateful thanks to the friends and parishioners who helped and comforted her during the end of her journey..
