We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our dear Paul on Tuesday May 30th. He leaves behind his loving wife Jill. Together, they lived a life wonderfully entwined in discovery, joy and an incredibly deep bond of mutual support and respect; an inspiration for us all.
His brothers and sister/sisters-in-law lose a kindred soul, an unassumingly great man of unbounded kindness and a great lover of life. He would do anything for his family. Paul's many nephews, nieces, and great nephews lose a proud 'father', he never thought of them as anything but his own children. They learned so much from his generosity and acceptance; they grew better in his presence.
Paul, through his many years of volunteering at Alta Vista Public School, leaves a lasting legacy of joy and an awakening of curiosity to all the children he taught to read, opening doors to greater knowledge.
His child’s heart and imagination was instrumental in connecting instantly with anyone he met.
He changed many lives for the better.
Visitation will take place on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., and in the evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m, at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road, Ottawa. A memorial service will follow on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
In memory of Paul, donations to the Alta Vista Public School would be appreciated. The proceeds will support their healthy snacks and reading programs and can be made possible using the following link:
