Unexpectedly at home in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 26, 2019, aged 57, Paul John Seguin, formerly of Ottawa. Beloved husband of Louann Seguin of Atlanta and Nashville, Tennessee. Precious son of Paul and the late Barbara Seguin of Ottawa. Darling brother of Paula Seguin and the late Patricia Seguin of Ottawa. Fond son-in-law of Richard and Mary Leonard of Phoenix, Arizona. Loving uncle of Rebecca and Alanna Foy of Ottawa and of nieces and nephews in the United States. Paul graduated from Ridgemont High School and was awarded the Chancellor’s Medal for Academic Excellence on receiving his B.Comm from Carleton University in 1983. He went on to earn his Masters of Science in Applied Economics in 1987 and his Ph.D. in Business Administration in 1990 from the Simon School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester in New York. An accomplished musician and lover of the opera and symphony, Paul was also a wicked satirist, gourmet, traveller, sailor, and Minnesota Twins fan. Paul pursued academic and consulting careers in finance and applied statistics. He met Louann at the University of Minnesota and they married in 2001. Their careers have taken them across the United States, but Paul never relinquished his Canadian citizenship, and his remains have returned here to rest. Friends and family may gather on Saturday, September 7 from 2-3 pm at McEvoy-Shields, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, followed by a reception. Please bring your favourite memories and a smile. Flowers gratefully declined, but tribute gifts to the Ottawa Network for Education in Paul’s name would be appreciated.
