August 5, 1914 - November 26, 2016
Born in Shawinigan, Quebec, a dedicated career at the National Research Centre in Ottawa, Paul lived his 102 years to the fullest. He had planned his Grey Cup party at his recent home at the Perley-Rideau Centre, fell short of breath and passed peacefully away while singing. But the party with long term friends and also family went on in celebration of his spirit and how he played the game. Paul's Ottawa team won just as Paul had won the love and respect of everyone who came to know him. He played fair, he made every touchdown count, he was always there when you needed him. He will be very much missed. Please join his family and friends in tribute. Visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, on Thursday, December 1 from 11 am to 12 pm followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 12 pm. Interment and hospitality will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue at 1:30pm. Donations for the upkeep of 'Dorothy and Paul's Butterfly Garden' can be made out to the City of Ottawa c/o Garry J. Armstrong Home, 200 Island Lodge Road,
