Michael Hugh McCann

It is with heavy hearts, that we are saddened to announce Michael McCann`s passing on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the age of 63 years. Loving and devoted husband and soulmate to Gloria for 40 years. Dearly loved father of the three blessings of his life, Ashley (Pascal), Jordanna (Miguel) and Alexandra (Chris). Dearly treasured all of his five beautiful grandchildren, Livia, Sienna, Noela, Wesley and Adrian. Mike is predeceased by his parents Allen McCann and Eileen Humphries, also by his father-in-law, Halim (Al) Saikali. He will be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Jeannette (Helal) Saikali, his brother-in-law Sam Saikali, and his sisters-in-law Barbara Hanna and Jane Merner (John), Mike is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends. One of Mike`s proudest accomplishments was his dedication to fundraising for local charities, especially the Ron Colbus Memorial Charity Golf Tournament (CLV Group) that raised over 3 million dollars for local charities over 20 years. After his diagnosis, Mike kept a positive outlook on life to the very end and everything always ended with a smile. The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Sunday, February 17, 2019 after 11:30 am, followed by Trisagion Prayers at 4:30 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. In memoriam donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation-Cancer Unit, would be appreciated.
