Joseph Poulin

(WWII Veteran)

On Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre, in his 97th year. Born in Ravenscrag, SK on March 6, 1916, he was the son of the late Phydime and Aline Poulin. Cherished father of Wayne, Darlene and Charlene. Beloved brother of Jeanette Tiede, Medicine Hat, AB. Grandfather to Phil, Mike, Joe, Sarah, Melissa and Doug and 11 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law, Sister Carolyn Krauskopf OSU, Chatham, ON. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews all over Canada and the U.S. There were many, many special people in his life at the Perley especially in the Creative Arts Studio where he found an outlet for all his creativity. Thanks to all the staff on R2N who lovingly cared for him and a very special thank you to Suzanne Leduc who was a devoted daily companion to Joe. Friends are invited to visit McEvoy- Shields Funeral Home at 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion) on Friday, April 27 from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral will take place at the Perley, 1750 Russell Road, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre-Creative Arts Studio would be appreciated.
