I am so sad to learn of John's passing. He was the Scientific Editor of the Canadian Journal of Public Health when I applied for the position of Editorial Assistant back in 1987, and it was his endorsement of my application and interview that got me the job. I have John to thank for launching me on the 32 wonderful years I've spent working with the CJPH in various editor capacities ever since! And I'm grateful that we kept in touch all along up until just the last couple of years - catching each other up on each other's families and wishing each other Merry Christmases!
I wish John's family well, and I hope it brings you comfort to know how much John's collaboration and friendship meant and that he will be greatly missed.
