Jeannette Neely

We are sad to announce the passing of Jeannette Neely (Desrochers, Langevin) peacefully at home on Saturday August 20, 2022 at the age of 86. She is predeceased by her parents, Yvonne and Joe Desrochers and by two of her children, Lorraine Langevin (1996) and Douglas Neely (1982). She is survived by her sister, Gert Lecuyer and her brother, Gerry Desrochers.

Jeannette was the loving mother of her three sons, Richard Langevin (Kathy), Ron Langevin (Ruby) and Michael Neely. She was the proud grandmother of Alex (Lidia), Adam and Charlotte Langevin; Jason, Jessica and Derek Closs; and Meaghan and Nathan Neely. Great grandmother to Mary and Josephine Langevin.

Jeannette faced a lot of adversity in her life with sudden death of her first husband, Donald Langevin, in January 1961 and the later deaths of two of her children. Through her hardships, she was able to maintain a positive attitude and to persevere. Jeannette loved all social gatherings with families and friends. She enjoyed coin collecting (and spending a bit of money at the casino). Jeannette never forgot a birthday and her recollection for dates of events was remarkable. She was a fiercely independent woman and there was no arguing with her when she had her mind set on something.

Respecting her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Internment will be at Notre Dame cemetery.
