I was shocked and sad to hear what happened to my buddy James. We grew up together in Bamako, Mali in the early nineties. We used to hang out a lot with the Bamako crew. Definitely my best childhood memories. When I think of James, I always see that smile. He was a great friend, always had your back and would never hesitate when it came to help. Although we lost touch throughout the years, we managed to get back in touch a few years back. Sadly we weren’t able to meet in person and I do regret it. 
My thought and sympathies go to his wife Claire, family and friends worldwide. You will be missed bro. I hope you rest in peace and will keep you in my heart forever. 
You were such a beautiful human being with so much love. If there is anything I have learned from such tragedies is that people need to stick together and care for each other even more. The Bamako crew was special for many of us and James was a big part of it. I will do my best to honor that precious friendship.

I met James and his family when I moved to the neighbourhood 18 years ago.   Since that time I have come to love my neighbors, the Sinclairs, very much.  

My memories of James are full of his enthusiasm, energy, wit and especially his willingness to step in and help promptly.   A light has gone out of our world too soon.  May you rest in eternal peace, James.

  We were so shocked to hear about the passing of James and still can’t believe he has left us and his beloved family behind.
 We went to school with James in Bamako Mali in our early age and we were good friends living close, often playing around together including  his younger brother Andy. 4 of us always together.
All those good memories that we had together is unforgettable and so permanent to us that we can easily remember just like it was yesterday.

List of fun things that we did together back then which we never forget:
- slipping sliding on the porch bare naked
- stuffing frogs with lighted firecrackers
- accidentally burning our tree house 
(Always ended up being grounded by his dad )

 We were all naughty kids but all those memories are so precious to us even now.
One thing regretted most is not reaching him for years until now, can’t imagine how tough it is even more regarding his family.

Rest in peace James until our reunion one day and condolences to his family.

James was not just a neighbor to my mother, but a friend. Since he was a little boy, he always had a kind heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His big smile and witty jokes never failed to brighten our day.

I am so saddened to hear of James' passing at such a young age, which is especially shocking.

He was always welcome in our home, initially as a friend of my son, Jason, and they quickly became best friends.

I pray for James' wife and his mother. May they find the strength they will surely need to get through the difficult times ahead.
