Jack McKay

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack (John Allen) McKay in hospital on Saturday, June 17th 2023 in his 83rd year with his loving wife Helene (Lamoureux) by his side. Jack was the loving father of Michael (Jacky) and Carole, grandpa to Ocean, Kody, Cheyanne, Ty and Kailer, great grandfather of Nolan. Jack leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. Jack was predeceased by his parents, William Stuart and Elizabeth Dempster Abercrombie and his sister Alda (Bryan), brothers Billy (Lorraine), Kenny (Betty), and Barry. Jack was a man of many talents. He loved tinkering around the house, working in the garden, walking, watching his beloved Senators and talking sports to anyone. Jack would talk to anybody about anything. A Memorial Visitation for Jack will be held in the McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, ON K1V1A6, (613-737-7900), on Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.McEvoy-Shields.com for the McKay family.
