Dear Cousin Sonia, please accept our deepest condolence to you and family members on the death of you dear husband and friend.
We share sadness because we know you will miss him and we will also miss him. 
We are happy we were able celebrate with him on his 70th BIRTHDAY, and were able to express our gratitude to him for his love, care and the gifts of his hands from his garden. Our lovely memory of him is his lovely BBQ, (excellent chef) when we visited you all in Ottawa. He drove us around site seeing. We were also grateful for the Vegs, Peas, etc. Tomatoes, we received from his beautiful garden

Getting to know Hervin over the years through Sonia was such a pleasure. He was quiet, yet underneath was a very warm,  funny  and very caring personality.  
Sonia, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.

To a dedicated gardener at Kilborn gardens, always planting and having a wonderful time doing it.  A very humble family man always do the best to provide for them.  He will surely be missed by all of us and  to the family, always cherish his precious moments you had with him.  Gone too soon and may  God continue to Bless and protect your family.

It will be strange this Christmas looking at the phone knowing that you will never call again.  I will always cherish the memories.

Uncle Prince was one of my faves. He was just so easy going, affectionate, kind, considerate, and welcoming. Uncle along with Aunt Sonia used to email me jokes (mainly Uncle) and check in on me using the same medium. I think he preferred emails to texting :) Whenever I ate cold meat from the fridge, my mother would tell me how much Uncle used to do it a lot when he lived in Jamaica.  Twas a great shock when my dad told me he died, and if my dad was speechless, imagine aunt Sonia. I can only pray that God keeps her comforted during her grief as I imagine she has lost her very bestfriend. While I think about uncle, I think about her too. May God give peace beyond understanding to uncle's family as they mourn.

Hervin Edwards or Prince as he was affectionately called, was my brother.

Prince was a humble boy who grew to become a humble man, as often times, he was seen and not heard; when heard, it was his infectious laughter. My brother was outspoken, trustworthy and caring. 

I can remember when he was living in Jamaica as an adult, he and I would make many visits to the country to visit our parents and younger siblings. His visits reduced when he migrated, but whenever he visited Jamaica, his main objective was to see his parents and siblings. There'll be no more visits now and this saddens me. 

I miss my brother but he has only gone a little before us. I pray his soul will rest in peace and that God's spirit will comfort his family that are mourning his loss.

To Sonia and family: I was very sad to hear of the loss of Hervin on Thursday and send  my heartfelt condolences.   Hervin was a warm and caring person. My late husband and I appreciated his work and were also privileged to  enjoy his (and your) friendship over several decades.

I always think of his enthusiasm for his vegetable gardens and his generosity in sharing their bounty. I will continue to remember him as I walk past the Parliament Buildings, one of the places in the Ottawa area where he left his mark.
