One Year since - How time goes on without pause. - Miss you Helen

I knew Helen she was a genuine dear friend of my Mom. I remember her as a very forgiving, loving women. Helen was a diamond she was rare and very precious. She was a very intelligent women who loved to converse about all subjects and who had a passion for photography. Helen always bought my Mom and I very beautiful cards that were always picked out with both feeling and true meaning and detail. Helen was a beautiful lady inside and out. You will always be in my heart and thoughts Helen.

I knew Helen in high school - from Grades 9 - 12 and we were fast and very good friends for those four years. I remember her wonderful sense of humour, kindness, sense of fun (infectious laugh), shyness, and so many other wonderful memories. I only regret that I didn't reconnect with her after those high school years.   I also have many warm memories of Boris. My sincere condolences to Irene and Ihor - you are in my thoughts. The service on Saturday was very moving. Take care.

When I arrived at the PMRA in 2003, I was introduced to Helen, a tall, pretty but shy woman. During those first few meetings, I quickly discovered her inquisitive mind, her kind heart and gentle nature. We quickly became friends. I treasure the coffees we shared in the Tupper cafeteria and the Billings Bridge food court, the many phone conversations, the occasional dinner. Though she disappeared in recent years, she would resurface from time to time and surprise me with a phone call that would last for hours. As I say goodbye, I will remember my friend Helen: kind, considerate and oh so pretty Helen. May you rest in peace, dear friend.

Helen was a lovely, sensitive and caring woman. I remember her gentle voice and lilting laughter. She loved deeply, had a passion for beauty and great sorrow at injustice. She was intelligent, creative and had many questions. I hope and pray that the One who created and loved her from the beginning of time is welcoming her home with a smile, open arms and a long list of answers to all those questions! She will live on in my heart. She touched me with her humble dignity, childlike wonder and sweet friendship of years past. 
May her hunger for love and justice be filled now in Heaven.

I had the pleasure to share coffee breaks with her at work. We had wonderful conversation about many different things and had laughter and loved the time together. 

She was the most kind hearted person that I ever knew. May God bless her soul and complete all her wishes.

My sympathy and sadness to the passing of my friend Helen, I will remember Helen's stickers and cards, and many conversations, we are never prepared to lose someone we - love: Here is a text i wouldl ike to share with you: 
Dealing with loss, grief, mourning,   very eloquently written, and singularly human, essay on love, life, and loss. The existential angst captured so beautifully . 
 Most of all,  I feel grateful for life itself, in all its rich, tawdry, shabby, wonderful, heartwarming and heartbreaking splendor, grateful to be a part of it, to be able to show up for the sorrows as well as the joys, to witness the way human beings rise to the occasion, be strong and take care of one another when logic might dictate they should be falling to pieces. 

The fact remains that our moments are slipping away, literally like the sands of the hourglass, and before we know it we will be looking back on our life, trying to come to terms with how we lived, and wondering where all the time went. I want to be able to look back over my life and know that I used my time to have experiences, that I tried to learn and know, that I spent quality time with the ones I loved the most, and that they knew I loved them when we were together.
Don’t let it slip away. Be. Here. Now.

I worked with Helen in the seventies and on through the years as we transitioned from Agriculture Canada to Health Canada. She always remembered so much information and kept all kinds of valuable historical data. I will always recall her smiling face and how she appreciated attention to detail.
