I am so sorry to hear of my fathers passing although we lived far apart, he was always in my heart.  My sincere condolences to you Thelma.  I pray that day rests in peace and that you are comforted by those who are closes to you.

It has been comforting Thelma-speaking with you numerous times this past week-sharing moments of past memories.

As Gary's youngest brother-we all-as a family-were so saddened by his sudden passing.
Gary was such a kind-generous soul-always there for support and guidance.
His radiant smile-sense of humor-and compassion for others-will be greatly missed.
Indeed-I was blessed for having such a brother-and friend.

Thelma-You were the love of Gary's life-always the pillar of strength for him-a trait our family admired greatly.
The 42 years you both had together-will be a memory for you to cherish forever.

Looking through the wonderful array of pictures posted-brings back so many fond times we had together.The picture of Gary skating on the canal-is a day I remember vividly-the 3 of us out together-on that beautiful March afternoon.That memory-along with so many others-I will always remember.

He was a supportive brother and true friend.I had the opportunity within the last week to visit our child hood home in the Netherlands.I walked through the home where Gary and I spent our youth and shared a bedroom.All that more meaningful and emotional given recent events.We had the opportunity to light a candle in the oldest church in Amsterdam for Gary a few days ago.
I am reminded of his true loves-cars and sports.He was extremely knowledgable on car stats, chastising me for buying European until he himself bought a Lexus which according to the die hard on American built autos was the finest car on the road!
On our twice monthly telephone calls, we would argue the merits of various teams in as many sporting events. this would inevitably result in generous wagers being exchanged with the full realization that money would never be exchanged.It was the opportunity to extend the call that was the real payoff.
Thelma-you complemented and completed Gary.He would have been lost without your unwavering love and support.For this the family will be forever grateful.
I apologize for not being able to attend the ceremony on the 28th.I am visiting my own extended family in the Middle East.Frank and I would like to participate in the eulogy.We are constructing a tribute and/ or could participate real time if someone present has an iPhone-could have a real time connect through face time remembering that we(Janice and I) are 7 hours ahead of Ottawa while in the Middle East.

Please accept our sincere condolences on the unexpected and premature passing of Gary. He was a great brother and trusted friend.Although living in different cities and countries we made the effort to remain connected. Within the last week I had the opportunity to revisit our childhood home in the Netherlands and walk around rooms where Gary and I would play and the bed room we shared.Particularly significant and emotional given recent events.
The twice monthly phone calls inevitably came around to his two loves-cars and sports.His knowledge of cars was impressive-chastising me for buying European cars until he bought his own after which he declared his Lexus to be the finest machine made!

I am grateful Thelma that you included a collection of photos throughout Gary's life.Stark reminder of the gentle and trusting sole he was.
You were his "rock".The two  of you completed and complimented each other.He truly would have been lost without your unwavering support.For that the family is forever grateful.
In advance I apologize for not being able to participate in the funeral services on Monday.I am in the Middle East visiting extended family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you.We lit a candle in the oldest church in Amsterdam in Gary's memory several days ago.
Frank and I are putting together an eulogy that we hope can be read on the 28th as it is impossible for either of us to attend.
If someone attending has an IPhone we could connect real time through face time in spite of distances and time differences-7 hours ahead of you.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I was truly saddened to hear Gary had passed away. I know the girls are shocked and saddened. We all believe we are perpetual. Thankfully Gary will rest in peace.
