Ruth Ann Blackwell, 67, of Ossian, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. She was born November 26, 1946 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Arthur and Phyllis Smith. She retired in 2010 from AG Edwards (Wells Fargo) as a Branch Operations Manager. She was a member of the Waynedale Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and #1 fan of her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Ron Blackwell of Ossian; children, A.J. (Jennifer) Blackwell of Uniondale, Roni (Brian) Henschen and Jamie (Veraessa) Blackwell, both of Ossian; brother, Michael (Alice) Smith of Ballston Spa, NY; grandchildren, Curtis Blackwell, Kyle Henschen, and Hailey Henschen; and sister- in-law, Peggy Smith. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Art Smith. Funeral is at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 14 at Elzey-Patterson- Rodak Funeral Home Ossian, Indiana with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial is at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian, Indiana.
