Charles “Junior” Eichhorn passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at River Terrace Estates, where he resided since 2013. He was born July 3, 1922 in Uniondale to the late Charles R. and Harriett (Brickley) Eichhorn. Junior farmed until the age of 90. He was a member of the Farmers’ Union and National Farmers Organizations. He was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Uniondale. Junior will be remembered as a hardworking man. He was very social and enjoyed visiting and reminiscing with many friends and extended family. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean (Ambler) Eichhorn, having been married April 3, 1948, they recently celebrated their 68th year of marriage; son, Phil Eichhorn of rural Uniondale; daughters, Brenda (Ervin) Glass of Fort Wayne and Judy Arnold of Greenwood, IN; four grandchildren, Kevin Arnold, Angela Blinkiewicz, Shannon Glass, and Heather Thompson; nine great grandchildren, Lexi Arnold, Jenna and Rylan Blinkiewicz, Xavier Ghrist, Lila and Nash Lang, Hadlee, Samara, and Zoe Thompson; and his pal, Brownie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Eichhorn; grandson, Glen Geier; great granddaughter, Gianna Blinkiewicz; sisters, Aline Denney and Hazel Todd; and brothers, Vaughn “Pat” Eichhorn, Don “Did” Eichhorn, and Sam Eichhorn. Funeral will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11 AM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, Indiana 46777 with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or Cancer Services of NE Indiana.
