We, as a family have so many memories of Ted, Barbara, and of course "Randalls".  Our kids rarely
came home from school before stopping in Randalls for school supplies,  or just a gab with Ted.
Randalls was a household name, as were Ted and  Barbara.  You always got a warm welcome, and chance to get up to date on the latest Kingston Road news , while sharing a laugh or two.  Ted will always be missed by his Kingston Road Community, always remembered as kind, considerate and interested in everyone who passed through his door.

Ted was a resident at Taunton Mills where my wife Nicole Lock currently works. Ted and Nicole has such a special bond that stemmed back to the beginning of the retirement building. You could always know where the two of them were from the second you walked through the doors because their voices and laughter were so loud! Ted always reminded me that I have an amazing wife and an amazing family, and he was always a great person to sit and talk with whenever I was there. I appreciate Ted for making our lives and specifically Nicole’s life a lot better, he was a joy to be around and we will all miss him. Thank you for all the memories and that you are an amazing friend.

Skip back 61 years ago. The merchants of  Kingston Road all knew each other very well. It was a community of Randall’s Stationary, Springhill Farms, Thompson’s Dairy Bar, Bob and Joe’s convenience store, International Chinese food, Three or was it five Star restaurant and my parent’s FINA Cleaners an acronym for Finest in North America.  My dad (Jim  Imada) would take a beer, or pop break in the back of the store with many of the merchants. Ted was one of them. 
I was five when my mom would send me to  Randall’s with a little change purse which included a shopping note to either Ted’s dad or Ted. I remember Ted as a very tall, gentle, smiling man. He would supply all of the beaches area students with all of our school supplies, all the merchants with their office supplies. 
Randall’s is a legend as is The GOOF. 
On Halloween he’d stay open to hand out trick or treats.  Ted and his store have touched so many people. I live in BC now and both mom and dad have passed on. But the wonderful memories of those times will remain with me. 
I visit Toronto every summer to see my siblings and last summer walked into Randall’s. It was as I remembered it years ago. 
To the family, I’m so sorry for your loss. 
Ted and your family and Randall’s have impacted so many of us.

When I think back to my childhood 50 years ago, shopping at Randall's was definitely a part of it.  Birthday cards, school supplies, Coles Notes when you hadn't bothered to read the novel, …  If you couldn't find what you were looking for, Mr. Randall just might be able to find whatever it was on an upper shelf or a box in the back.  Excellent customer service every time.  My sincere condolences to his family.  

Ted was a true gentleman and the world was a better place with him in it. I bought my high school text books from him 50 years ago!
