After a short illness Sheila Martha Clark passed away peacefully on Thursday February 1st, 2024 at Lakeridge Health in Bowmanville, Ontario at the age of 95.
Sheila will be forever loved and remembered by her children Karen Leblanc (Lionel), Janis McCue (Tom), Judith Pace, William Clark (Renée), by her grandchildren Sean, Josh, Matthew, Michael, Nathaniel, Emily, Victoria, Tyler, Daniel, Alexa, and by her nine great grandchildren. She will also be greatly missed by all her nieces, nephews and family.
She was predeceased by her late husband William Clark Sr., her daughter Catherine Clark – Armstrong, her grandson Zachary Pace, her son-in-law Finn Nielson, and by her 7 sisters and 4 brothers.
Sheila was born on August 22nd, 1928 in Peterborough, Ontario to the late David and Diana Wilson. Sheila was a teacher who taught for the Peterborough Public School Board and the Sudbury Public School Board. She instilled a love of learning in her students, her children and her many nieces and nephews. She was also an avid traveler and loved travelling to Europe and Africa.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa (905-721-1234). As per Sheila’s wishes a Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and thanks to the staff and nurses at Traditions of Durham Retirement Home, to Sheila’s personal support workers, and to the doctors, nurses and staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and Lakeridge Health Bowmanville.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to SickKids Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
