Ruby Ilene Brown

Died peacefully at Hillsdale Estates on Monday, November 29th, 2010 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Harold Clinton Brown. Cherished mother of Clinton Brown (Margaret) and Carol Mittlestead (Neil). Loving grandmother of Dwayne Brown, Chantal Coqu (Laurent) and great grandmother of Torrie and Jesse. Nana will be sadly missed by Patti Brockman, and Melissa and Garrison Leigh. Born on November 12th, 1920, Ruby was the youngest child of Irish immigrants James and Annie Elizabeth Sills. She is predeceased by her siblings and their spouses Hazel Marlowe (Joseph), Bertha Douglas (George), Mary Ambrose (Jack), Edward (Gladys), Lorne, Jim (Mary), and Queenie. In a different era and economic time, Ruby would have been a kindergarten teacher and throughout her life fostered a love of learning in every child she met. She was a Sunday School teacher at Cedar Dale United Church for over two decades. Heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Hillsdale Willow Way, especially Judy, Melissa, Cindy, Sharrill and Rosie. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Wednesday December 1st from 1:30 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Followed by cremation.
