Peter Johansen

Passed away with family by his side, at the Rouge Valley Health Ajax, on Saturday, July 16th, 2016, at the age of 72 Years. Dearly beloved husband of Lynda (neé Parsons). Loving father of Cindy Trent (Damen), and Peter (late Angela). Cherished grandfather of Tara and Austin Brito; and Justis and Devan Johansen. Dear brother of Sharon Watchorn. Predeceased by parents Peter and Mildred Johansen. Fondly remembered by family and friends. Peter was born and raised in Oshawa; graduated from O’Neil CVI; attended Ryerson and Carleton Universities before settling into the family business Johansen Homes with his father, building and developing many subdivisions in the Durham Region. He ended his career spending over 25 years as the Director of Land and Development with the Provincial Government. He volunteered his time serving as President with the Oshawa Builders Association, he was a speaker for the Heart and Stroke Foundation for patients at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa, as well as a Social Member with the Oshawa Golf Club for over 40 years and sat on the Board of Directors of his condo Association for 7 years. A Celebration of Life visitation and reception will take place at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street W, Oshawa (905-721-1234) on Thursday, July 21st 2016 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Donations may be made in memory of Peter to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated.
