March 31, 1940- February 6, 2023
A fighter to the end, on her terms, Patricia (Pat) passed in her 82nd year. Predeceased by her loving husband Doug Cameron (2012) and Robert (Bob) Strutt (2001). Dear mother to Patty Robinson, Cindy Snoddon, Dale Strutt, Lisa Strutt (Ray Boivin) and step mother to Patti Anne Pethick (Bill), Dawn Cameron, Barri Ranieri (Peter) and their families. Nan to eight: Melissa, Cory, Amie, Christopher, Tanya, Trevor, Micheal, Bret and their spouses.
Great grandmother to 16, "last I counted" Mom would say! Pat is survived by her sister Pauline Bell and predeceased by her parents Ben and Betty Mitchell and her brothers Butch, Jim and Bill Mitchell.
She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and their families.
Mom retired a proud G.M. employee (North Plant) 1997. Pat loved yard sales, her home, animals, decorating and was an avid reader. She enjoyed family get togethers, holidays, spring time and she always looked forward to "Birthday Breakfast" with her sister Pauline to laugh and play catch-up.
Pat always helped people and animals freely. Mom loved her 4 legged fur babies most of all, cats and dogs, it didn't matter and a couple of birds too. Whether they needed vet care or just a full warm belly, all could find a place with her. Pat along with her daughter Lisa, did Cat Rescue for many years.
The family would like to thank the Village of Taunton Mills Retirement and Long Term Care (Emma's) for the kindness, friends made, guidance and staff (you know who you are). Mom loved her time there.
Also, a big thank you to Thornton View Long Term Care for their care, compassion, and empathy shown to mom as she made her transition. Always kind but professional to mom and family, it will not be forgotten.
As per Pat's wishes there will be no funeral service, cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Oshawa Funeral Home 847 King Street West, (905-721-1234).
In memory of Patricia (Pat), donations may be made to Durham Humane Society or Barn Cat Co-op (Animal Rescue Service) would be appreciated.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oshawafuneralservices.com for the Cameron family.
