Michael Mike Hickie

WWII RCAF Veteran.

Long-time member of St. Mary of the People Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on October 1st, 2011 in his 94th year. Predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Tillie. Dear father of Gloria (Rick) Peterson, Tim (Mary) Hickie and Dave (Laura) Hickie. Cherished Gramps of Christy (Dan), Lee (Karen), Bob, Jill (Craig) and Ana-Matisse. Proud great grandfather of seven. Dear brother to four brothers and five sisters. Retired 28 year employee of General Motors. Mike will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was an avid golfer who spent much time at the Oshawa Airport Golf Club. Mike will be best remembered by those who knew him as a kind and generous gentleman with a great sense of humour. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa (905-721-1234) on Tuesday, October 4th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Prayers at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will take place at ST. MARY OF THE PEOPLE CATHOLIC CHURCH (570 Marion Ave., Oshawa) on Wednesday, October 5th at 11:00 a.m. Donations made to Lakeridge Health Oshawa, department of your choice, would be greatly appreciated.
