Marion Alice Harmer

Passed away peacefully at Livita Centennial Retirement Home, Oshawa, Ontario.

Predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Ernest Harmer and her eldest son, Allan (Susan) Harmer. Devoted mother of Robert John and daughter Allison Harmer. Proud grandmother of four grandchildren: Matthew, Jonathan, Carolyn and Eric, eight great-grandchildren: Alex, Liam, Zoë Harmer, Andrew and Jacob Harmer; and Madelyn, Adelaide and Charlotte Root; and one great-great-granddaughter: Peyton Rose Harmer.

Predeceased by her parents: Edward and Alice Blackburn and two brothers: David and Jack Blackburn. Predeceased by her brothers-in-law: George (Lorraine) Pearce, Arthur (Barbara) Harmer, Beni (Shirley) Masselli, William Lea and David Harmer. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) Lea and Marlene Harmer.

Marion was a kind and joyful person, known for her strength and creativity. She was a skilled seamstress, always creating with care and attention to detail. Marion also had a love for music and enjoyed singing in the Church choir, where she found comfort and connection.

Her passion for photography was evident in the way she captured moments, always preserving precious memories and bringing family and friends together through her lens.

She had a deep love for nature and found joy in spending time up north, where she could take in the beauty of the outdoors. She also had a profound love for animals, cherishing the companionship and comfort they brought into her life.

Marion’s warmth and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her family and good friend, Suier Richardson. Her legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, in the chapel on Wednesday April 2, 2025 at 10:30 AM. Visitation from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. A reception will follow the services in the Heritage Room. A committal service will be at Union Cemetery.
