Maria Barone

Peacefully left to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 21st, 2014, at the age of 93, passing away at Strathaven Long Term Care. Predeceased by her loving husband Francesco (1958) and by her infant children Nick and Anna. Loving and adored mother of Carmela (late Nick Guarini), Angelo (Antonietta), Rosa (Ralph Vozza), Giselle (Don Westlake). Grandmother of Lorenzo Guarini (Kelly), Frank Guarini, late Francesco Barone, David Barone (Christine), Adam Barone (Jessica), Anthony Barone, Frank Vozza (Cheryl), Teresa (Greg Stratsma), Giovanni Vozza (Olena), Sherry (Wayne Fitzpatrick), and Todd Westlake. She was the eldest of 7 children and leaves behind siblings Frank Bruni (Rose), Saletta Bruni, and Ester Guzzo (Carmine). Predeceased by Gabriele Bruni, Adelina Bruni and Michelina Mazzotta. Maria also leaves behind many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as many relatives from around the world. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, October 24th from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, October 25th at 11:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donations to Compassion International, The Refuge or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
