Nana,

I have been trying to find the perfect words to leave for you but nothing I come up with seems been good enough to express my feelings. It was really hard watching dementia impact your life and see you struggle. We were very close, you were such a huge part of my life and I will never forget all the great memories we shared. You were such a strong, independent and caring woman who wanted the best for everyone around you. It wasn't fair how it all happened but I know you are now at peace. I will always cherish the memories we had together and know you will always be there looking down on us! I love you Nana and miss you a lot!!

Eleanor,Walter and family, We are saddened of Peggy’s passing.
Peggy lived a long and full life with an exuberance dedicated to her family. Her love and determination was her strength to take on the challenges of life. Peggy’s smile and a twinkle in her eye would light any room like a star. She portrayed a dignified no nonsense demeanour that challenged us to be better.
We were fortunate to have shared our time with her for so many precious family events that will be always in our memory.
Our sadness will be healed by these blessed memories.

Eleanor, Walter and family, we were saddened to learns of  your Mums  passing.  we moved to PEI six years ago and lost touch with Peggy. Hello Eleanor and Walter.  It’s been a very long time since I saw your mother.  She was great friends with Primmy and Sandy Williamson, my in-laws, now deceased.  
However I still remember the happy times at the Williamson home in Port Perry.  You were just a young girl at that time.  Your mother had such a lovely laugh, always finding humour in life.  And yes, her shortbread was delicious, as good as my mother-in-laws.
My son Rob noticed the obituary in the Oshawa paper and called me.  I’m very sorry to hear of your loss.  My heart goes out to you and your family.  Sincerely, Carol

When I look back on Nana's beautiful, full life, I think of a woman who was independent, strong, private, proud, dignified, hardworking, gracious and generous - who fiercely loved her family. Being a Mother, Nana and Nana Peggy brought her so much joy. Nana was always game and eager to do anything to show her love & support and to be included as an integral part of our lives - with us all  proud, happy, fortunate and appreciative to have her always there. Over the last few years we have missed her presence at birthdays, holidays, milestones and family get togethers. A  gradual and subtle preparation as we now move forward without her in body but know she will always surround us in spirit. Nana we thank you for your unconditional love and support. We love you so very much and cherish the endless memories that will forever warm our hearts and bring smiles to our faces.

My mother, Melva Dalton, cherished her friendship with Peggy and always appreciated their time together.  I too will always remember her warm greetings when we chanced to meet, her kindness and generosity, her extraordinary knitting, and, of course, her legendary shortbread. A remarkable lady.  Eleanor, my heart goes out to you and your family. 

I’m sorry to hear of Peggy’s passing.  I remember her to be a lovely, kind woman that always had time to chat with me when our paths crossed.

You will always be remembered cherished  and never forgotten. Although our hearts are heavy and we feel the loss, we do know you are now at peace and your spirit is whole again. Today we commemorate and honour your life. A long life truly lived. You have given us so many memories to share and laugh. Thank-you for making everyone around you better. Today we honour, and celebrate you.  Rest in pride and peace.
