Mr Killoran was our homeroom teacher at Terry Fox Public School, Mr Killoran's death was very unexpected, and we were devastated. Mr Killoran was always a funny, kind and caring teacher, He always believed in all of his students and had faith in all of us. Mr Killoran's classes were always fun, The class feels empty without him. We won't ever forget the Friday song he played every Friday. In memories of him, we will play this song every Friday.

Such a shocking loss of a young man who was a much loved member of our family for over 28 years. I recall meeting Jesse for the first time when Lynn brought him, only days old, to the hospital to meet his maternal grandmother, who herself would only be alive for another four weeks or so. It was the last time I would see her conscious and in later years I often thought of that day as a 'circle of life' moment. It's a circle that's now been broken far too soon. It's difficult to imagine what Lynn, Tim, Ryan and Bella are going through at this time. My heart goes out to all of them as does that of my partner Gabriel.

I met Jesse back in grade 8 and from there our friendship bloomed and The Killoran household truly became my second home growing up. When I think of Jesse I think of us venturing to the corner store to get milkshakes and frosties in the summer, endless amounts of playing video games together, blasting our music on the speaker in the living room at his house, playing at the outdoor rink until the lights went off, forcing him to teach me 11 chapters of math a week before our math finals, Jesse’s commitment to making sure his hat was colour coordinated with either his t-shirt or shorts, having Tim drop and pick us up all over Ottawa, and countless others. I may have lost touch with Jesse when he left Ottawa for school but I am so grateful for the friendship and memories I made with Jesse growing up that I look back on very fondly. 

Jesse was kind, generous, and had energy that was infectious. Even from a young age it was evident to me how much Jesse’s family meant to him and just how much they loved him. I am keeping you all in my thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Jesse’s sudden passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this incredibly difficult time.

I had the privilege of working with Jesse at Ontario Tech University, where I had the honour to co-instruct his foundation courses at the Faculty of Education. He was an exceptional teacher and a remarkable young man, known for his quiet demeanour and professionalism. His passion for teaching was evident in the way he shared his biology expertise with his classmates and took great pride in his presentations and assignments. He was always deeply respected and loved by both his students and colleagues.

I fondly remember a conversation we had with another classmate after class about his artistic arm tattoo. Jesse playfully suggested I get one too, and I laughed, saying, "I'm going to be 60, I think not!" Well, guess what? I got my first tattoo last year! I’ll always smile when I think of that moment with him.

Jesse's impact, both as a student and as a teacher, was immeasurable. He was not only a top "A" student but also a kind-hearted soul who touched the lives of everyone around him. His legacy as an exceptional young man and educator will forever remain.

Please be proud of the wonderful son, brother, and partner you had in Jesse. His brief time on this earth was filled with purpose, and he truly made a difference. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you navigate this heartbreaking loss.

Jesse and I were colleagues at Terry Fox PS and during his stint at T Fox,  we developed a friendship.  He was such a joy to work with and his zeal for life was evident during all our interactions. The love for his family was the fabric of his existence as he would travel to Ottawa every week to refocus,  reignite, re-engage, refresh and restart for the journey ahead. It is with a heavy heart, that I recall the precious moments we shared with each other and brief time I was afforded with him. Rest in peace Jesse, gone too soon!

Jesse was one of my little brother’s, David, best friend. We are so saddened and devastated by this news. As David’s family, we are grieving the loss of a wonderful friend who cared and loved my brother so very much. Jesse’s life touched each and every one of us and he will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

My heart goes out to you all. Jesse was an incredible friend and an amazing teacher. He was the first person I called when I needed a supply in my class and he thankful stuck around and called our school his home. 

From teachers college virtual meetings to lunch room chats with the inner circle, Jesse was truly the light in all our lives. He has left behind an incredible legacy and some seriously big shoes to fill.  Teaching gym last period will truly not be the same without my friend by my side. 

We will continue to play ‘it’s Friday’ in honour of him every Friday and we will make sure to sing it loud with all the students!

I am so sorry to learn of Jesse's untimely passing. I was Jesse's undergraduate thesis advisor during the last year of his Biology degree program. Jesse also worked in my lab for a summer.
