My deepest condolences to the Tobin family on their loss

My heart felt condolences go out to the Tobin family. It is always a shame when we lose a Gentleman.

On behalf of the Oshawa Baha'i Community, the Spiritual Assembly of Oshawa wished to offer our condolences on the passing of Mr. Tobin.
Our community has helped with the preparation and serving of meals at the St. Vincent's Kitchen for many years and were happy to do this as a result of the actions of Mr. Tobin and people like him who understood the need to provide for our less fortunate brothers and sisters.
In our Faith, our highest aspiration is to serve mankind and Mr. Tobin was a true servant.

I have never sat on a train without braging about my uncle Jimmy to the staff. I was always very proud of my uncle Jim. God bless to tobin family. Mom, Dad, Margie, Jim and Alice are having their own reunion today.

Siobhan and family, I am shocked and saddened at the news of your Dad's passing.
And I honestly am struggling for words appropriate.
There are none of course.
He was a great man, an amazing Dad and a caring Husband.
He understood the needs of the less fortunate  made room in his heart for those in need.
There but for the Grace of God go I.
Such a rare combination almost unheard of in today's society.
But Tobin Tradition lives on in the hearts of his family and numerous souls his and your Mom's efforts showed love and care for.
And there can be no better legacy than that !

As hard as it is knowing you're no longer with us here, I take comfort in knowing you're with your beloved Alice and Celena.

I was going through some old photos and cards tonight because I realized some of my cousins on my dads side were missing a lot of photos of our relatives, and wanted to make sure they got copies. I came across a letter you wrote me in 2008, thanking me for a birthday card I had sent you. In the letter you mentioned that I had written (and I quote) "as Uncles go, you are one of the all time best." I will stand by that statement until my own end. There aren't enough awesome adjectives to describe the incredible man you were. Rest in Peace my beautiful Uncle. xoxo. Cathy

My beloved Uncle Jimmy, I have never met anyone as cool as you were. Your phone calls to the family during Mom and Aunt Margie's last days were always so spiritually uplifting and soothing. You were such a loving big brother. I will always hear your comforting voice. Give everyone a big hug and a kiss for me.

I first met you at the age of 12.  Your humour at that meeting I have never forgotten.  Over the years your bountiful love for your family and for Mary Alice defined love itself.  Jim, you have raised a fine family and I am most proud to bear your name. My heart is saddened to hear of my sweet Uncle Jimmy passing...His heart was so loving, devoted, compassionate, spiritual, humorous...I can go on forever describing him. I feel truly honored to call him my Uncle, lots of wonderful memories I have to cherish. What a wonderful humble and sweet father you have been to us Dad.  Your scarifies for the family have never gone noticed. The best father and role model a child could ever have. To the Tobin family especially the ones I knew well and worked with on the railroad Sean and Mel. Please accept my heartfelt condolences, I'm sorry so very sorry. I also knew your Dad  and found him to be a good and fair boss when he was CN Supt. at Oshawa, Just an all around good guy.
