Advocate for many years .My wife Lois and I considered him a friend along with Todd who helped us in many ways over the years .we will remember Ed with fond memories now and forever ,Rest in Peace Dear Friend !

So sorry to hear of Ed's passing. He was a great help to me many years ago and a role model to my sons in the 1913 Cadet Program. He will be sadly missed by all.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Kunkel family. It was a privilege to have served with Ed and the 1913 Ontario Regiment Cadet Corps.    They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old; age shall not weary them nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. He was a true inspiration to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

No matter his affliction Ed's uplifting, cheerful spirit always amazed me. It was a blessing to know him as my friend. I'll miss him.

We were very sorry to hear Ed's passing. He and my father Leo shared many childhood memories during their shared time in Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps (Sir Francis Drake) the Navy League and, later, at General Motors, St. Gertrude's and as officers in our Regiment. 

Through his long service to the Cadet movement and our Regiment, LCol Kunkel was a mentor to literally thousands of Oshawa's young people. Through all of his years battling MS, never once do I recall him complaining or bemoaning his physical limitations when he returned to visit the Regiment and his beloved Cadets. It's in that spirit that we'll treasure many memories of a kind, merry and generous man, officer, father, grandfather -- and husband to your late mother Jean. 

On behalf of the Morin family, please accept our deepest sympathies at this difficult time. Rest in peace, Sir.
