Delmer Lloyd Killen

(January 2nd, 1931 – July 12th, 2013)

Beloved husband of Joyce (Louvelle). Father of Donald and Dianne (Owen) Thomson. Stepfather to Mike (Mary Ellen) Louvelle, Dawn (Rick) Whitaker, Dean, Bernie (Bernadette) and Dane (Nancy) Louvelle. Papa “Del” to Krista, Bret, Michael, Jeffrey, Meagan, Kory, Kyle, Chantelle, Melissa, Kayla and Brayden. Great Grandpa to Olivia, Madison, Jade, Mason, Ava, Hudson and Harlow. Predeceased by his first wife Catherine (Laidler), his brother James, his sisters Emma, Peggy and Annie. Survived by his brothers George and John, and his sister Marie. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Del was a 30 year employee for the Durham Board of Education as a custodian at Eastdale, Donovan and Central Park, a job he loved. He was a superintendent at 95 Quebec Street apartments for over 10 years where he made many more new and wonderful friends. Dad was always open, warm and friendly, striking up conversations and new friendships wherever he went. He was known for his dry sense of humour and ready smile. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, July 20th from 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
