October 17th, 1936 ~ February 17th, 2014
David died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife of 41 years, Gloriann (Mann), daughter Pamela Wilson and son Marc, after a courageous battle with cancer. David is predeceased by his brothers Ernie, Homer, Arnold and sisters Lily and Zona (Cecil). He is survived by brother Bonner Law (Mary), son-in law Ed Wilson (Pamela), brother-in-law Wendell Mann (Normie), sisters-in-law Shelley Mann and Catherine Charlong (Kenny), mother-in-law Florence Mann, grandchildren Melissa and Shane Wilson, Marcy, Steven and Courtney Law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends and neighbours. David was passionate about everything he did: cycling, walking, skating, skiing, hunting and fishing. An avid gardener and home cook, he was busy all the time. His battle with cancer never took away his sense of humour. David spent his working years in the mine in Sudbury, then Dunlop Tire and General Motors in Oshawa. The family is grateful to Princess Margaret Hospital and their Lodge, Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre and the Saint Elizabeth Health Care Nurses and Revera for their special care in the last few weeks of David's life. A very special thanks to Eric Pitters, Pamela West, Susan Watson and Dan Healey. Visitation will take place at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa (905-721-1234) on Sunday, February 23rd from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A "Celebration of David’s Life" will take place at KINGSVIEW UNITED CHURCH, 505 Adelaide Avenue, Oshawa on Monday, February 24th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre in Oshawa (hearthplace@hearthplace.org; ph. 905.579.4833) or a cancer charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
