Walter S. Reese Sr.

Walter S. Reese Sr., age 94, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2014. Walter was born in Nashville Tennessee to the late Charles and Cecilia Reese. As a young adult, Walter proudly joined the United States Air Force and served during World War II. He later went on to receive his degree in heating and air conditioning from Youngstown, Ohio. Diligently putting his education to use, he worked for C.H. Reese and Sons with his 4 brothers for most of his life.

Walter thoroughly enjoyed fishing, watching football, golfing, and playing the piano; but more than anything, he loved spending time with his family. Walter is preceded in death by his 4 brothers; George, Charles H. Jr., James and Robert; sisters, Cecilia and Julia; son, Walter Reese Jr. (Steve). Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Clara; daughters, Judy Greene and Rena Colon; granddaughters, Megan Brown and Laura Charnigo; great grandchildren, Savannah and Gavin Dixon, Xander and Briar Brown; friends, June Lowe and family.

In honor of Walter’s life, a visitation will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd, Ormond beach, on Wednesday, July 2nd from 9:00-10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Walter will be missed by all. Condolences may be offered at www.volusiamemorialfunerals.com
