Sylvia was born in Daytona Beach on March 20, 1945 to proud parents Elmer J. And Lily Maie (Darby) Hull. She attended Corbin Elementary School in Ormond Beach and followed in her mother’s footsteps to become a nurse. On December 21, 1963, she married her sweetheart, William (Bill) Fox who she met on a blind date. Sylvia and Bill went on to have two boys and a very blessed marriage of almost 55 years.
Sylvia worked at Humana Hospital for over 15 years and in the Wound Care Clinic for five years. In 1991, she received the Nurse Excellence Award. She loved being a nurse. Sylvia was known for her contagious laugh and wonderful sense of humor. She loved living on Lake Disston, working in the yard, crafting, cooking and taking care of her family. She was strong and loving as well as determined and kind.
She is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, William M. Fox, her two sons Rustin and Daniel (wife Kim), two grandchildren, Cameron and Lilly, and her brother David Hull. Sylvia loved her family well and will remain dearly loved by all she touched. A graveside service will be held in celebration of Sylvia’s life on October 8, 2018 at 11am at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach 32174.
