Robert Eugene Smith, 83, of Ormond Beach, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on August 28, 1929 son of the late Pearly and Lulu Smith. In 1934 he moved with his family to Miami, FL and resided there until 1983. During that time he was in the salvage bus and metal fabricating business. He was a member of Tomoka Christian Church in Ormond Beach where he served as a Deacon. Besides his parents he is predeceased by one sister and his daughter Lynn McDowell. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Judith; his children; Robert Smith, of Port Orange, Dan Smith and Jean Holloway, both of Orlando; and Kate Miller of Lake City; step-children Kass Genneken of Ormond Beach; Kathy Lockhart of Lynchburg, VA and Keith Genneken of Chula Vista, CA; 15 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren. A memorial service will be held, 1:30 pm, Friday, October 26, 2012 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach.
