Born in Braintree, MA, to Scottish parents Robert and Margaret Brown but raised on Cape Cod, MA.
As a professional accordionist in high school Bob had a 1 hour radio show for 2 years with his band the "Down Beats." Robert graduated with a BS and MS degree from Lowell University now the University of Mass at Lowell and his PHD degree from the University of Connecticut. He accepted an assistant professorship at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 1971. He also coached the 1st ERAU baseball team at Embry Riddle. Bob became Chairman of the math and physical science department and then 2 years later was promoted to Dean of the College of Engineering and Aeronautical Science at Embry Riddle University. Bob continued playing the accordion professionally in numerous clubs around town including the Flagler Ballroom Dancers for 21 years. Bob enjoyed coaching little league baseball and soccer for 12 years.
Robert's father was a soccer internationalist, teaching his son and grandsons many skills. Bob, his father , and son Rob are in the National Soccer Hall of Fame in New York.
Doc is survived by his wife Jean of 55 years; son, Rob and daughter-in-law, Maeve Brown
