Richard was born to the late Fred and Helen Wolff on August 3, 1926 in Akron, OH. As a young man he answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army during WWII and served admirably in Germany. Not long after returning to the United States from the war he relocated from Binghamton, NY to Ormond Beach, FL in 1949. In Ormond Beach, he began a career in the Utilities department that would span over 30 years ultimately retiring as the Director of Utilities for the City of Ormond Beach.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years, Mary J. Wolff who passed away on March 17, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his brother Jim Wolff and sisters; Janet Spittle and Susan Wolff. Left to carry on his memory are his step-sons; Tommy Munsey and David Munsey and his wife Alice, his daughter Susan G.M. Rawlins, his granddaughter Hope Coleman and her husband Clark and great-granddaughter Reese Coleman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Richard loved to bowl, golf and fish, he also belonged to The Benevolent and Protective order of Elks Lodge #2193 and the Moose Lodge #1263.
A service to celebrate Richard’s life as well as Military Honors will take place on June 20, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at 678 Hand Avenue, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Richard’s memory to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, Florida 32129.
