Michele was born in Ormond Beach, Florida to the late Billy and Alida Sterthaus; she was the third of four girls. Michele is survived by her three children: Amber, Chelsie, and Dirk Myers, and her three sisters: Miriam Revels, Debra Coates, and Jane Jenkins. As Michele wished, Amber will be taking her beloved golden retriever Otis back to California with her to live.
Michele graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School in 1978. During her high school years she took an interest in child care. She furthered that interest into her career, becoming a life long passion. Michele loved each child she cared for so much that she kept a scrapbook chronology from 1978 to 2012 of each child under her care.
Among her favorite pastimes was sun bathing at Flagler Beach and her many trips to Amish Country in Holmes City, Ohio: Michele loved the simple beauty of Amish life.
Michele was diagnosed with Stage Four Breast Cancer in September of 2008. As she said, it was at that time her eyes were open to many things and she began a new Season in her life. That month she also accepted the Lord into her heart. In August of 2010 she was Baptized at Community Baptist Church, as faith would have it with Jennifer Vannoy; one of her dearest friends. As her faith continued to grow, so did her strength to live in spite of her struggle. She never let Breast Cancer own her. Michele never gave up hope.
Thank you for sharing in Michele's life.
With love,
