Mary Jane Yaskowitz Caniglia, 83, died at home surrounded by her loving family, on May 1, 2013. Mary Jane was born on December 20, 1929 and grew up in Revloc, Pennsylvania. She married and raised her children in Parma, Ohio. In 1972, she and her husband bought a bar in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and named it the Sit-n-Sip. She worked hard, had fun, lived fully and loved her family above all else. She was a feisty woman who faced the challenges of life head on. An avid sports fan since her high school cheer leading days, she especially loved football and the Miami Dolphins. In 2002, she was felled by a major stroke. She made the best of it and lived with grace and dignity. The final blow came in April when she received the news she had cancer. Again, her indomitable spirit accepted her fate. She is a shining example of how to live regally in tremendous adversity. She will be joining her beloved granddaughter, Tara Jayne Cevera, who predeceased her. Left to carry on her resilient spirit are her daughters Jayne Fifer and Tammy Lollis, her son Jeffrey Cevera (Alicia), her granddaughter Jessica Lovatt (Scott) and her great granddaughters, Carli and Katie. The Celebration of Her Life will be Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Southeast Care Center Chapel, 4140 S. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater, FL 32141.
