It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Judy Lynn Moss on Friday, January 5th, 2024. She departed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 66, leaving behind untold chapters of a life rich with potential and love. She was a friend to all and a stranger to none, offering her words of wisdom or a lending ear to everyone she encountered.
Born in Dallas, TX, Judy Lynn Moss embraced life with love, resilience, and compassion. Late in life, she pursued a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification to care for her late husband, Bruce Moss, during his courageous battle with cancer. Her selflessness and dedication to her family were truly admirable.
As a paraprofessional for Volusia County schools, Judy dedicated herself to serving the neediest of students in a variety of diverse settings, spanning elementary, middle, and high school. Her impact on the lives of these students will be remembered with gratitude and appreciation. Her commitment was recognized when she was named Paraprofessional of the Year, a testament to her unwavering dedication.
In her youth, Judy Moss was an accomplished athlete, breaking Junior Olympic swim records. Her achievements in the pool showcased her determination, skill, and competitive spirit. She graduated from Cooper City High School in Cooper City, Florida, as part of the class of 1975. Her early athleticism translated into a life where she was always on the go, keeping busy and moving with a vibrant energy that defined her spirit.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Danielle Moss (Matthew), her son, Scott Moss (Rachel), her sisters, Jill Cancello (Floyd) and Janis Scott (Tony) with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond, her brother Leon Miller (Marie), her grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and service that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She lived for her grandchildren, Kaelyn, Kaison, and Elijah, bringing boundless joy to their lives. Her love and presence will forever be felt in the hearts of those she cherished most.
She has been joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Bruce Moss, as well as her granddaughter, Keilyn Voltoline, brothers, and parents in a place of eternal peace. May their joyous reunion bring comfort to those left behind.
A memorial service to celebrate Judy's life will be held on Saturday, January 20th from 12-2 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home in Ormond Beach, FL. Rather than flowers, the family requests plant contributions for a garden that will serve as a living tribute in her memory.
May she rest in peace, and may her memory continue to inspire and comfort those whose lives she touched.
