Joseph "Joe" Dougherty Sr

Preceded in death by parents, Walter & Catherine Dougherty; brother, Dennis Dougherty.

Survived by loving wife of 58 years, W. Madalyn Dougherty; son, Joe (Kelly) Dougherty; daughters, Heather Dougherty-Harris, Mary Catherine Dougherty; grandchildren, Nicole (Taylor), Brandy (Leo), Hunter, Corrin, McKenzie, Aidan, Jackson; great-granddaughter Daisy, and a host of family and friends.

Joe retired from Southern Bell Telephone. For over 30 years owned, and operated All Florida Fireplace Supplies in Ormond Beach. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was a member of Knights of Columbus.

Joe loved to travel with Madalyn and would go on many adventures. He loved to joke and live life to the fullest. In addition, he was the author of “How to stay married for 50 years.” and ‘Joe’s Adventures, fun on the river.” Most of all, family was everything. Joe will be missed by all.

Visitation Friday, February 2, from 4 pm until 7 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home. Catholic Mass will be held at 11 am on February 3, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Volusia Memorial Park. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life reception at the funeral home
