Johnnie E. Wilson, 84, passed away, Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Sedgwick, Kansas. Mr. Wilson was born in Wichita, Kansas, to Josiah Wilson and Myrtle Armstrong on January 17, 1932. He was the oldest of four, growing up with sisters; Delores, Jackie and Sharon. He served in the U.S. Army for over 24 years and fought in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was married to Dorothy (Dillman) Wilson in 1955 and later that year welcomed their only child, Joe. After he retired from the military, Johnnie worked for Vulcan Chemical Company until retirement. Johnnie was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, watching football, and baseball. For many years he was also a member of the Shriners in Wichita, Kansas. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Dorothy; sister, Sharon; daughter-in-law, Yvonne; granddaughters, Amanda and Kristen; great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Damon; and many nieces and nephews. Johnnie will be laid to rest, near his son at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach, FL in a small graveside service on November 22, 2016 at 2:00pm.
