John G. Schattie

John G. Schattie, 67, born in Staten Island, NY, passed away on June 4, 2014 in Daytona Beach, FL. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. After the war, he began his career with Delta Airlines and met the love of his life Julie Schattie, who he was married to for 40 years. He went on to become a Delta Supervisor of Operations and retired after 35 years of dedication. John was an avid coin collector. He was most proud of his family, especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He is survived by his daughter Susan Mangione, his daughter Lisa Schattie, his son Robert Schattie, his sister Edwina Schattie, and his sister Glenda Schattie. He will also be missed by his eight loving grandchildren, David, AJ, Danielle, Robbie, Hunter, Arianna, Storm & Gabby. He was pre-deceased by his parents John and Jewell Schattie, his wife Julie Schattie and his son John Schattie III. Services will be held at Volusia Memorial Chapel, 548 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 between 10am-11am until time of service at 11am.
