Jeff was born in Hollywood, Florida, to Joyce and Robert MacLaughlan. He was the valedictorian of the first graduating class of Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, Florida, and went on to obtain a degree in statistics from the University of Florida. Jeff was an avid dog-lover, and he enjoyed cooking and traveling.
Jeff’s career in actuarial science and project management brought him to live in both Kansas and Virginia, but he found his way back home to south Florida in 2009 and settled in a community he loved in Wilton Manors.
Jeff is survived by parents Joyce and Robert MacLaughlan, sister Susan Pyle, sister Shannon MacLaughlan David, and brother-in-law Sean David.
