James C. Freeman (Jim), 77, of Port Orange, passed away October 21, 2017. Jim was born in Charlotte, NC on January 8, 1940. He graduated from Seabreeze High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. Jim married his high school sweetheart Virginia McMahon Freeman on June 10, 1959 and they were married 41 years. He was self-employed and started Courtesy Mobile Homes in the late 1960’s -1970’s and later sold it. Jim and Virginia bought and owned Orange Isle Campground on Nova Rd. for 25 years. They purchased Port Orange Marina in the early 1980’s and still own it to this day. King’s Seafood was established in the mid 1980’s by Jim and his partner John Polston and is still in business today. Jim loved fishing and farming and has resided in Costa Rica for the last 25 years coming back and forth thorough the years to visit family and friends. Jim is preceded in death by his wife Virginia who passed away in February 2001. He is survived by daughter Kimberlyn Graham and son in law David Graham, son James P. Freeman and daughter in law Crystal, grandchildren Matthew Graham, Michael, Adam, and Morgan Freeman, brother Roger Freeman, and sister Sandra Lee. A graveside service will be held for immediate family only at 10:00 am, October 25, 2017 at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach.
