Glenn D. Wright, 97 of Port Orange formerly of Ormond Beach, passed away July 3, 2017. Glenn was born in Crab Orchard TN son of Lee and Eliza Wright. He honorably served in the US Navy as an AOM 1st class during WWII and was able to participate in Honor Flight from Orlando to the WWII Memorial in Washington D.C. .Glenn was a construction supervisor for Weyerhauser Corporation for 33 years retiring in 1982. In his earlier years he enjoyed NASCAR and taking his grandson fishing. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 78 years, Martha; daughters, Margie Wright, Port Orange and Patricia Wright, Deland; grandchildren, Mark Wright, Sebring and Tammy Wright, Daytona; great grandchildren, Jimmy Lee Weaver, Sanford, Justin Ryan, Jacksonville, Marcus Wright, Amanda Wright and Sydney Wright, Sebring; granddaughter in law Erin Wright, Sebring; great great grandchildren Lilly Ryan and Finn Weaver; brother, Pete Wright and sister, Azile Groce. He was predeceased by his son, Norman Wright; daughter in law, Shirley Wright and great grandson Andrew “Tucker” Wright. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 548 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends form 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Donations may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warriors Project.
