Betty was welcomed into the world by her loving parents, James and Bernice and her older brother Jimmy, 31 May 1940, in Windsor, Ontario, where she spent her formative years.
She started an administrative career at Bell Canada before moving to New York State in the early ‘60s where her primary focus became raising her three children. Betty rejoined the workforce in the late ‘70s once again in administrative positions, in both the banking and healthcare industries. After retiring from Florida Healthcare, in Holly Hill, she returned as an auxiliary volunteer.
Betty was an avid reader, always having a good book within reach. She loved walking on the beach and greeting other beach goers along the way. She enjoyed working in her yard, watching comedies and completing puzzles and she always looked forward to cruising the Caribbean with her friends.
Betty was a true “people” person, she was full of spunk and loved to talk to everyone, having never met a stranger. She is survived by her three children, Jill Sellers (Chris Eaton), Bill Venter (Dawn) and Lee Reinecke (Rich), seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and her brother Jim Colquhoun, who to this day still refers to Betty most lovingly as “his baby sister”.
