David John Hoar, 80, of Ormond Beach passed away June 1, 2018 at Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach, FL. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and grew up in the Springfield area. David honorably served in the U.S. Army for nine years. After he was discharged he worked as a machinist for Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, Ct. for 30 years until he retired in 1992. David was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Melha Shrine in Springfield, Massachusetts. He had a passion for Bridge, Bingo and Bowling. He is survived by his wife Barbara King, 4 step-children Sandee Havunen, Jeff Havunen, Bryan Havunen, and Gary Havunen; 4 step-grandchildren, Alexis Havunen, Nathan Levig, Dylan Havunen, and Alden Havunen; mother in law, Blanche King and his dog Lucky. Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 548 N Nova Road Ormond Beach, FL.
