Dear Curtin Family  we are so sorry to hear of Dan's passing,  such an amazing man. We loved him , great coach  we still talk about him. He made a difference in many people's lives here in Danbury Ct .He was a treasure and we are thankful to have shared time with him ❤  The Lawrenia Family.  RIP Coach Curtin.

I'm very sorry to hear of Dan's passing. He was a great person, and I think of him often. Dan was truly larger than life and was a truly good man.  I am sure many will miss him.

It was August 1974 when I arrived in Milwaukee to attend Marquette University. Within 2 or 3 days I met "Danny" Curtin. Ironically he was from Westchester County, graduated from Stepinac the previous May.  I was from Westchester County and graduated from arch rival Iona Prep the previous May. It took 800 miles, a very strange place (for 2 kids from suburban NYC) with so many strange people ( for 2 wise-ass kids from suburban NYC) for us to find each other on the same floor in the same dormitory.--McCormick Hall. From that very first  moment and over the next four years Danny and I became soul mates, hung out and caused all kinds of trouble (harmless of course) at Marquette. 

Danny loved life and grabbed as much of it as he could every day while I knew him at MU.  He was hilarious, courageous (who in the hell would throw their bodies around on a rugby field!!!) "street smart" (that made up for his grades, trust me) and just a great authentic New Yorker.

Apparently from what I've seen here he lived a full life with a wonderful family; overcoming tragedy and challenges-- just like the guy I knew and befriended 53 years ago.

Here's to you, DC!

Daniel J. Curtin Jr. 

Daniel J. Curtin Jr., passed away Wednesday September 6, 2023 peacefully in Ormond Beach, FL. He was born on September 23, 1952 in Buffalo, NY.  Daniel was recently a resident of Las Vegas, NV Allen, TX, Ormond Beach, FL and lived in many other locations throughout his life. 

Daniel is survived by his loving wife Leila Curtin, Children Daniel, Courtney and Gregory. Grandchildren Hudson, Nash and Kal. Siblings Brian, Michael and Debby. Cousins, nephews, nieces and many other loving relatives. Daniel will be joining his deceased wife Susan, father Daniel and mother Rosemary in Heaven. 

Daniel was a proud graduate of Stepenac High School and Marquette University with a degree in History. Daniel played Rugby for Marquette University. He stayed very close with his Marquette teammates and they shared many great memories throughout life. Daniel was a great leader and was the owner of numerous companies including DC Sales Inc. for over 30+ years. Daniel raised his children in Danbury, CT and was a great coach that won numerous championships including the Pop Warner Super Bowl with the Danbury Trojans during his coaching career. Daniel loved sports and enjoyed sharing that passion with his family and friends. In his spare time he loved staying busy which included traveling, spending time with loved ones, attending sporting events, relaxing at the beach, going out to restaurants, helping others and many more activities. Daniel had an amazing personality, great sense of humor, extremely kind heart and would do anything possible to help others. He will be dearly missed by many people he left a lasting impact on that will always remember his beautiful soul.

Uncle Danny, You will be so missed! I have so many fond memories growing up spending time with you, Aunt Susan,  Danny Jr, Courtney, and Greg at your beautiful home in Danbury, CT.  Holidays at your house were always so special! So many memories going to the fair, watching the fireworks, going out to eat and playing the gas station game on the drive home, going on the boat, and just spending time at your house.  Everything with you and Aunt Susan was so fun.  You had the best sense of humor and always made everyone laugh.   You were the ultimate sports fan and I can't watch baseball or football without thinking of you. You had the biggest heart and the love that you and Aunt Susan shared was so inspirational.  You would do anything for your family and from the time I was a young girl, I always admired that and knew that when I grew up and had a family of my own, I wanted to be as involved and present as you and Aunt Susan were with your children.   We may not have you here on Earth but there is not a doubt in my mind that you and Susan are reunited in Heaven watching down on us all and that makes my heart so happy.  Love you always! Kelly Ann

Super Bowl weekends in Las Vegas were always a great time with great friends. Unfortunately, not just Danny, but Jay Mulligan and Frank Valentino are no longer with us. Rest in peace my friends.
